Christchurch Earthquake -- Message from Dunedin.

Added on September 7th, 2010

In Dunedin we are feeling for the people of Christchurch and surrounding areas as they cope with the consequences of the earthquake which occurred on Saturday morning September 4th, 2010, and the aftershocks.

We understand something of the distress of disruption to daily life, the grief felt by many over loss of homes and possessions, and the increasing stress and insecurity caused by the severe aftershocks. We are also moved by the resilience, perseverance and devotion to duty shown by those in authority who speak on tv and radio.

We understand that some churches in the area have suffered significant damage and we send our sympathy to presbyters, ministers, priests and congregations as they face this loss, and make decisions for the future.

To the citizens of Christchurch and Canterbury we extend our thoughts and prayers.
